The Problem

Cases are not lost because lawyers lack information. They are lost because irrelevant facts cloud judgment, hidden risks go unseen, and strategy drifts from the facts and law.

  • 01

    Irrelevant facts cloud judgment.

Volume is not the problem. Noise is. Every fact that does not move a claim, a defense, or an element of proof competes for the attention the case actually needs.

  • 02

    Hidden risks lose cases.

The exposure that decides a matter is rarely the one on the whiteboard. It sits in an unexamined admission, an unguarded answer in a transcript, or an element of proof no one has stress-tested.

  • 03

Strategy drifts from the facts and law.

A theory formed at intake quietly outlives the record that supported it. By the time the drift is visible, the posture of the case has already changed.

Faktum™ separates what matters from what distracts.

02

Strategic command

A real-time, 360-degree view of your case.

Faktum™ holds your entire matter at once — facts, law, filings, briefs, docket entries, witnesses, transcripts, discovery, claims, defenses, risks, leverage, and next moves — and keeps it current as the case changes.

The litigation workflow

From intake to trial, one strategy.

Faktum™ works your case the way litigators do — each stage carrying the theory forward rather than closing a task.
  1. 01

    Intake

Frame the matter around claims, defenses, and elements of proof before the first document is read.

  2. 02

    Blueprint

Blueprint-driven case strategy development grounded in facts, law, claims, defenses, risks, witnesses, and litigation posture.

  3. 03

    Discovery strategy

Draft requests for production, requests for admission, and interrogatories, assemble propounding packages, analyze responses, and shape meet-and-confer strategy and motions to compel.

  4. 04

    Discovery ingestion

Import, ingest, and export electronic and paper discovery — files, folders, email, messenger and text chats, social media, audio, and video — with tagging, redaction, confidentiality and work-product classification, metadata analysis, and version tracing.

  5. 05

    Fact finding

Evaluate facts against the elements you have to prove, and run forensic truth search across parties, entities, assets, funds, events, and behavior patterns.

  6. 06

    Depositions

Draft deposition questions grounded in the facts, the elements of proof, and the governing law, so testimony is taken against a theory rather than a checklist.

  7. 07

    Transcript analysis

Surface inconsistencies, supporting admissions, contradictions, evasions, and strategic openings across a single transcript or the full set.

  8. 08

    Opponent analysis

Read the other side’s filings, discovery responses, testimony, and docket activity for what they are signaling, and check their cited authority against legal research for citations that do not hold.

  9. 09

    Judicial review

Evaluate a filing the way the assigned judge is likely to read it, drawing on that judge’s prior rulings, opinions, and appellate history on comparable issues.

  10. 10

    Motions and pleadings

Draft supporting motions, pleadings, briefs, and filings grounded in real legal research with proper citations, using legal research integrations where connected.

  11. 11

    Production and exhibits

Automate discovery production assembly and exhibit preparation so what you present matches the theory you argued.

  12. 12

    Hearing and trial

Hearing preparation, trial preparation, and jury instructions drawn from the claims, defenses, elements of proof, facts, and applicable law.

04Opponent strategy

Read your opponent’s strategy between the lines.

Faktum™ analyzes filings, briefs, discovery responses, deposition testimony, docket activity, omissions, contradictions, and emphasis patterns to surface what the other side is signaling, avoiding, conceding, or preparing to attack.

What they are signaling

Three of the last four briefs re-argue causation rather than damages.

The defense is building toward an expert challenge, not a valuation fight.

  • Briefs
  • Docket activity

What they are avoiding

Both corporate designees deflected on the escrow transfers, and the topic is never volunteered.

Funds tracing is the exposure they least want developed.

  • Deposition testimony
  • Discovery responses

What they are conceding

Objections to the Lot 22-B requests disappeared between the first and second response set.

That ground has been given up. Stop spending leverage on it.

  • Discovery responses
  • Meet and confer

What they are preparing to attack

Recent requests concentrate narrowly on your client’s document retention practices.

Expect a spoliation theory. Preserve and prepare the custodian record now.

The attorney advantage

Faktum™ does not replace legal judgment. It compounds it.

If every lawyer has AI, the better strategist still wins. Faktum gives attorneys clearer facts, sharper risks, stronger options, and better timing, but judgment remains the lawyer’s advantage.

Clearer facts

The record separated into what proves a claim and what merely fills a file.

Sharper risks

Exposure named early, while there is still time to change the posture.

Stronger options

Live alternatives measured against the elements and the governing law.

Better timing

The right motion, request, or concession at the moment it carries weight.

Features and advantage

What each capability gives your firm.

Every workflow is measured the same way a senior associate would be: accuracy you can file, hours you get back, matters you can take on, and outcomes that land better.
Faktum capabilities and the advantage each one gives a firm
FeatureCapabilityAdvantage for your firm
Case strategy blueprintBuilds the theory of the case from claims, defenses, elements of proof, facts, witnesses, risks, and current posture, then keeps it current as the record changes.Direction is set in one working session instead of several. Associate time goes to proving the theory rather than rediscovering it, and the matter stops drifting between status conferences.
Native e-discovery and paper discoveryFull discovery tooling in the platform: import, ingestion, and export of electronic discovery, files, and folders; document tagging; redaction; confidentiality and work-product classification with guardrails; metadata analysis; and version tracing. Identifies gaps in email threads, displays messenger and text message chats in their native form, and ingests social media, audio, and video archives. The firm stops paying a vendor to hold its own record, and nothing is lost in the handoff. Because the same ingested material drives case analysis, posture, and strategy, a missing thread or an altered version becomes a strategic finding rather than a production problem discovered later.
Discovery drafting and response analysisDrafts requests for production, requests for admission, and interrogatories, assembles propounding packages, and analyzes what comes back, including evasions and deficiencies.Discovery sets that took days are ready the same day. Deficient responses surface while the meet-and-confer window is still open, so leverage is kept instead of written off.
Fact-based deposition assistantDeposition outlines and questions drawn from the facts in the record, the elements you have to prove, and the governing law.Fewer wasted examinations and fewer second sessions. Every hour of testimony is aimed at an element, which shortens the path to summary judgment or a serious settlement number.
Multi-transcript contradiction analysisCompares testimony across a single transcript or the full set to surface inconsistencies, supporting admissions, contradictions, evasions, and strategic openings.Impeachment material a manual review would miss is found in minutes rather than weeks. Accuracy at that level moves settlement posture before trial costs are ever incurred.
Forensic truth searchDeep-links parties, entities, assets, funds, events, behavior patterns, embellishments, omissions, and under-disclosure across the record.Concealed assets and undisclosed relationships surface early, while they still increase the value of the claim, rather than after the number has been agreed.
Opponent strategy analysisReads filings, briefs, discovery responses, deposition testimony, docket activity, omissions, contradictions, and emphasis patterns to show what the other side is signaling, avoiding, conceding, or preparing to attack. You prepare for the case they are actually building. Motions land where they are weakest, and the firm stops spending budget defending ground the other side already gave up.
Opponent brief and citation integrity reviewAnalyzes the other side’s filings and briefs against real legal research: whether each cited authority exists, stands for the proposition claimed, and remains good law. Flags fabricated or AI-generated citations, misquoted holdings, and unsupported propositions.A defective brief becomes your argument, whether for sanctions, for credibility, or simply for the win. Your team never concedes ground to authority that does not hold, and no one bills hours chasing a case that was never real.
Judicial perspective analysisReviews your filing the way the assigned judge is likely to read it, drawing on that judge’s prior rulings, written opinions, and appellate history on comparable issues.Briefs are tuned to the decision-maker before they are filed. Better odds of a favorable ruling, and far less unbillable time spent re-briefing after an adverse order.
Motions, pleadings, and filingsDrafts supporting motions, pleadings, briefs, and filings grounded in real legal research with proper citations, using legal research integrations where connected.A partner-ready draft on the first pass. Filings go out on schedule with citations that hold, and drafting time converts into matters the firm could not previously take on.
Automated production assemblyAssembles discovery productions and prepares exhibits, hearing materials, and trial materials from the same record the strategy was built on.Production work that consumed a week of staff time is handled in a fraction of it, without the errors that invite motions to compel or exclusion fights.
Jury instructionsDrafts case-strategy-driven instructions from the claims, defenses, elements of proof, facts, and applicable law in the matter.Instructions match the case you actually tried. Fewer concessions at the charge conference and a cleaner record to take up on appeal.

Capabilities describe Faktum™ litigation workflows. Outputs are cited to source material and reviewed by an attorney before they are used in a matter. Outcomes depend on the facts, the law, and the judgment of counsel.

07

Scale your practice

More favorable outcomes. More matters under control. Faktum™ helps your practice handle more cases without losing command of strategy, facts, or quality of representation.

  • 01

    Command scales with the caseload.

Every matter carries a live posture, so you can see where a case actually stands without re-reading it from the beginning.

  • 02

    Depth is not rationed.

The tenth matter gets the same standard of fact and law grounding as the first. Strategy does not thin out as the docket fills.

  • 03

    Growth without dilution.

Take the matter you would have passed on, and represent it at the level your name requires.

08Trust and control

Attorney-controlled from first draft to filing.

Faktum™ is designed for privilege-aware litigation workflows. Outputs are cited to source material and reviewed by an attorney before they are used in your matter.

09

Architecture

Private vaults on top of state-of-the-art AI models.

Two questions decide whether AI belongs in a matter: can it invent something, and where does the client’s file go. Faktum™ is built to answer both before the first document is loaded.

Zero hallucinations

Answers are drawn from your matter’s own vault and tied to the document they came from. Where the record does not support a statement, Faktum does not make it.

Zero unverified citations

Every authority is checked against legal research before it reaches you: that it exists, that it stands for what it is cited for, and that it is still good law.

Your client’s file stays in the vault

Matter content stays inside the Faktum boundary. When an outside model is called, client and matter identifiers are stripped before anything is sent.

How it is built, top to bottomIsolated per matter
  1. The modules you work in

    What an attorney actually opens

    • Strategy
    • Discovery
    • Depositions
    • Litigation and filings
    • Trial preparation

Each module reads and writes only to the vaults belonging to that one matter. Nothing reaches across to another client’s case.

  2. A private vault for each case

The case file, indexed so it can be searched and cited

    • Discovery vault
    • Docket and filings vault
    • Depositions and transcripts vault
    • Strategy vault

Every matter is provisioned with its own vaults — a private, indexed copy of that case’s record that Faktum searches, reasons over, and cites back to. Nothing is pooled across cases, clients, or firms. Engineers call this per-matter retrieval-augmented generation, or RAG.

  3. The Faktum model

Trained by Faktum, firewalled by Faktum

    • Legal reasoning model built on Gemma
    • Runs inside the Faktum boundary
    • Never trained on your matters

A legal reasoning model Faktum tunes and runs on infrastructure it controls. It handles most of the work without any part of the matter leaving the boundary, and your cases are never used as training data.

  4. State-of-the-art AI models

Called only when the work demands it

    • Anthropic
    • OpenAI
    • Google Gemini
    • Palantir AIP

For the heaviest reasoning, Faktum calls the current best commercial models through their APIs. Client names, matter identifiers, and party details are stripped first, and no vendor is ever given access to your vaults.

Legal research and court data

Connected alongside every layer

  • Westlaw
  • LexisNexis
  • PACER and CM/ECF

Used to verify authority and pull docket activity, available where your firm holds the subscription or account. Faktum does not resell access to these services.

State-of-the-art reasoning on your case. Nothing identifiable on an outside server.

Questions

What attorneys ask before the first matter.

What is Faktum™?
Faktum is litigation strategy software for attorneys. It gives a real-time, 360-degree view of case strategy and posture — facts, law, filings, briefs, docket entries, witnesses, transcripts, discovery, claims, defenses, risks, leverage, and next moves — so counsel can build, test, and execute strategy grounded in the facts and law that matter. It includes full e-discovery and paper discovery tooling, so the record the strategy is built on lives in the same platform.
Which courts and practice areas is Faktum built for?
Faktum is built for litigators in state and federal court. It is in use across commercial, real estate, family law, bankruptcy, criminal defense, intellectual property, and immigration litigation. It is not built for transactional practice, wills and trusts, or advisory work that never reaches a docket — the product assumes a matter with an opposing party, a record to develop, and a court in front of you.
Does Faktum account for my jurisdiction, local rules, and the assigned judge’s rules?
Yes. A matter is set up against the court it is actually in: state or federal, the governing rules of procedure, the local rules of that district or county, and the assigned judge’s standing orders and prior rulings. Deadlines, meet-and-confer obligations, page limits, and formatting follow from that, and a filing can be evaluated the way the judge in front of you is likely to read it based on how that judge has ruled on comparable issues.
What is Faktum built to produce?
Two things. A case strategy grounded in the facts and law that matter, and a meticulous discovery protocol that keeps developing the record until the facts that decide the case are on it. Often that pressure is what produces the settlement — an opposing party comes to a number when the record stops being arguable. Where it does not, the same work has already produced what a trial requires: exhibits, examination outlines, motions, and jury instructions drawn from the record you built.
Does Faktum include e-discovery and paper discovery tools?
Yes. Faktum natively supports both electronic and paper discovery: import, ingestion, and export of electronic discovery, files, and folders; document tagging; redaction; confidentiality and work-product classification with guardrails; metadata analysis; and version tracing. It identifies gaps in email threads, displays messenger and text message chats in their native form, and ingests social media, audio, and video archives. All of it feeds case analysis, case posture, and strategy recommendations rather than sitting in a separate review database.
Then is Faktum just another document review platform?
No. The discovery tooling is complete, but documents are an input rather than the product. Faktum is built around litigation strategy, case posture, and attorney judgment. Discovery work is done in service of the theory of the case: ingesting and classifying the record, drafting requests, analyzing responses, and assembling productions that match the strategy being argued. A review platform tells you what a document says; Faktum tells you what it does to your case.
Can Faktum replace our current e-discovery vendor?
In most matters, yes. Because ingestion, tagging, redaction, privilege and work-product classification, metadata analysis, version tracing, and production assembly all run inside the platform, the record does not have to be handed to an outside processor and handed back. That removes per-gigabyte processing costs and the delay and data loss that come with moving a record between systems.
How does Faktum analyze the opposing party’s strategy?
Faktum reads filings, briefs, discovery responses, deposition testimony, docket activity, omissions, contradictions, and emphasis patterns to surface what the other side is signaling, avoiding, conceding, or preparing to attack. It also reviews the opponent’s briefs against legal research to flag citations that do not exist, do not stand for the proposition claimed, or are no longer good law.
Can Faktum detect AI-generated or fabricated citations in an opponent’s filing?
Yes. Faktum checks each authority cited in an opposing filing against legal research to identify fabricated or AI-hallucinated citations, misquoted holdings, improperly cited cases, and propositions the cited authority does not support.
How does Faktum avoid hallucinated answers and fabricated citations in its own work?
Two mechanisms. First, answers are generated from your matter’s own vault rather than from open-ended model memory, and each one is tied back to the document it came from — where the record does not support a statement, Faktum does not make it. Second, every legal authority is checked against legal research before it reaches you: that the case exists, that it stands for what it is cited for, and that it is still good law. Every output is also reviewed and approved by an attorney before it is used in a matter.
Does Faktum replace an attorney’s legal judgment?
No. Faktum does not replace legal judgment; it compounds it. The platform supplies clearer facts, sharper risk assessment, stronger options, and better timing. Every output is reviewed and approved by an attorney before it is used in a matter, and judgment remains the lawyer’s advantage.
Which stages of litigation does Faktum support?
Faktum works from intake to trial: intake, case strategy blueprint, discovery strategy, discovery ingestion, fact finding and forensic truth search, deposition preparation, transcript analysis, opponent and citation analysis, judicial perspective review, motions and pleadings, production and exhibits, and hearing, trial, and jury instruction preparation.
How does Faktum protect privileged and confidential material?
Faktum is designed for privilege-aware litigation workflows. Confidentiality and work-product classification is applied at ingestion with guardrails, and the platform uses secure isolated environments, role-based permissions, and audit trails that record who approved what and when. Outputs are cited to source material and reviewed by an attorney before they leave the firm.
Which AI models does Faktum use, and where does my client’s file go?
Every matter is provisioned with its own private vaults — separate vaults for discovery, docket and filings, depositions and transcripts, and strategy — so nothing is pooled across cases, clients, or firms. Those vaults sit above a legal reasoning model built on Gemma that Faktum tunes and runs on infrastructure it controls, which handles most of the work without any part of the matter leaving the boundary. For the heaviest reasoning, Faktum calls state-of-the-art commercial models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Palantir AIP through their APIs — with client names, matter identifiers, and party details stripped before anything is sent, and no vendor given access to your vaults. Your matters are never used as training data.
Who is Faktum built for?
Faktum is built for litigators and litigation teams in state and federal court — solo attorneys, boutique litigation firms, and litigation departments — who want to handle more matters without losing command of strategy, facts, or quality of representation.
